Students listen, reflect, and help capture life stories that honor older adults and build community.
What is Youth + Senior Connections?
Intergenerational programs for seniors and youth are at the heart of Youth + Senior Connections. We are a nonprofit that pairs students with local seniors to share life stories through mutual mentorship. As students assist older adults with basic technology—such as documenting conversations or uploading photos—they engage in meaningful dialogue that fosters empathy and builds genuine connections.
This collaboration fosters empathy, challenges assumptions, and uncovers shared values. Students gain perspective and purpose; seniors feel heard, honored, and connected to their broader community.
How it Works
Students are matched with older adults in local senior communities to share life stories and build meaningful relationships. Throughout the year, students capture those conversations, and Youth + Senior Connections transforms them into professionally created LifeBooks that preserve each senior’s story. Every LifeBook is presented during a special celebration with family, friends, and the community.
Connect
Students are partnered with local seniors to build meaningful, intergenerational relationships based on trust and empathy.
Share

Create
