Youth + Senior Connections (“YSC”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of all participants in our intergenerational education programs, including students and senior participants. We work closely with schools, senior-serving organizations, and technology partners to ensure that privacy is respected and safeguarded throughout program participation.
1. Student Privacy
Youth + Senior Connections prioritizes student privacy and aligns its practices with school district data governance and student privacy expectations.
YSC does not collect, sell, rent, or share student personal data.
Student participation does not require students to create personal accounts on external platforms.
Other than student names (used solely to facilitate program participation), no student personally identifiable information (PII) is collected by YSC.
Students do not enter their own personal data into the digital platform.
Students may assist senior participants with documentation or basic technology use, but student information is not stored, retained, or processed within the platform.
These practices are designed to ensure that student privacy is protected at all times.
2. Senior Participant Privacy
Youth + Senior Connections respects the privacy and autonomy of senior participants.
Senior participants choose what personal information, stories, or materials they wish to share.
Participation is voluntary, and seniors retain control over their own content.
YSC does not sell, rent, or commercially distribute senior participant information.
Any information shared by senior participants is used solely for program participation and personal documentation purposes.
3. Use of the WriteMyLifeBook Platform
Youth + Senior Connections utilizes the WriteMyLifeBook platform as a third-party technology tool to support program activities.
WriteMyLifeBook maintains its own Privacy and Copyright Policy, which governs data handling, storage, and security within the platform.
Senior participant information entered into the platform is subject to WriteMyLifeBook’s privacy practices.
Youth + Senior Connections does not control or independently store data within the WriteMyLifeBook system.
Students assist seniors in using the platform but do not create or manage accounts for themselves.
Participants are encouraged to review WriteMyLifeBook’s Privacy Policy directly for detailed information regarding platform-specific data handling and security practices.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
Youth + Senior Connections does not share participant data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes.
Aggregated or non-identifiable information may be used internally for program evaluation or reporting purposes.
Data is disclosed only when required by law or with appropriate consent.
- Third-Party Services
We may use trusted third-party service providers to support website maintenance and functionality only when these services support site operations. These providers have access to limited information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are obligated to protect it in accordance with applicable privacy standards.

Youth + Senior Connections takes reasonable measures to protect participant privacy and works with partners who employ industry-recognized safeguards. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
